Firstly, I love Jimothy. He’s captured the imagination of a country that, frankly, doesn’t wake up with a lot to look forward to lately. What started out as a personal project has grown beyond anything I could have guessed and so here we are. You too can have your own Jimothy worry-coin. Something about it’s just… nice.
How do I make these?
Beginning with a raw brass blank I start by individually laser engraving both sides of the coin. Afterward I painstakingly remove the engraving residue, clean, and degrease the coin before hand-painting it with a patina solution. Finally the coin is waxed and placed in a protective case. Each one takes me almost half a day to finish and because of the various processes I employ, no two are alike.
There’s only one of me and these take a while to make. I’m working as fast as I can.
